Die Auswirkungen von Perestroika auf die Völker des Nordens Russlands wurden am Max-Planck-Institut für ethnologische Forschung untersucht. Erich Kasten koordinierte die Forschungsgruppe zu Sibirien von 2000-2002 und organisierte die Konferenzen "Postsocialisms in the Russian North" (2000) und "A World of Cultures: Culture as Property in Anthropological Perspective" (2002). Die Ergebnisse sind in den Sammelbänden People and the Land, Properties of Culture – Culture as Property und Rebuilding Identities zusammengefasst.

Ethnological research in Siberia during Perestroika

The impact of Perestroika on the indigenous peoples of the Russian North was studied by the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology. Erich Kasten was in charge of the team working on Siberia in 2000-2002. He organized the conferences "Postsocialisms in the Russian North" (2000) and "A World of Cultures: Culture as Property 13 in Anthropological Perspective" (2002). The results have been published in the edited volumes People and the Land, Properties of Culture – Culture as Property und Rebuilding Identities.

Этнологические исследования Сибири во времена Перестройки

Последствия Перестройки для народов Севера исследовались Институтом Макса Планка. Эрих Кастен координировал исследовательскую группу в Сибири в 2000-2002 гг. и организовал конференции Postsocialisms in the Russian North («Пост-социализм на Севере России») 2000 г. и A World of Cultures: Culture as Property in Anthropological Perspective («Мир культур: культура как собственность в перспективах антропологических исследований») 2002.
